A Quick Thought on Narcissism

God is the ultimate narcissist. Have you ever thought about that? Think about God for a moment:
·        He demands worship from every person on earth.
·        He commands that we do all things for His glory.
·        He sets His Son up as Lord of all to His glory.
·        He is a jealous God.
·        His greatest commandment is that we love Him with all of our hearts, souls, and minds.
·        He brings people to Heaven to worship Him forever and ever.
·        He loves sinners in order to glorify Himself in His mercy and grace.
·        He has billions of angels singing His praises perpetually.
·        He makes people live and die for the honor of His name.
·        He does, quite literally and completely, whatever He wants.
·        He wrote 66 books about Himself.
·        He constantly shows off through His creation.
·        He divinely inspired the psalmists to write lavish praises for Him.
Yet, in all of this, God does not sin. He is not somehow of ill character for being a narcissist. The only reason narcissism is bad for us is because we're not God! When man is narcissistic, his fault is putting himself in God's place. When God is narcissistic, He is claiming His rightful place! So, then, let us praise our narcissistic God forever with all our souls, so that He may take great pleasure in our exuberant delight in His glory. We serve the only One who is worthy to be a narcissist. How cool is that?
