Who Cares? - ENC 1101 Alternate Poem

Our nation's Church gives little thought
to just about anything at all.
We may not speak it,
but our actions make it clear.
We always react, “Who cares?”

Jesus Christ gave us a command,
and He expects for us to obey.
“Love the LORD your God;
love your neighbor as yourself.”
However, we react, “Who cares?”

At present, fifteen percent of
Americans live in poverty.
Less than two percent
of our income goes to charity.
Of course, we react, “Who cares?”

Too many are dependent
on government welfare,
a system which could
collapse on any day.
Counting money, we react, “Who cares?”

Our nation lives to save the trees,
and all the while kill the children.
A woman's “rights” conquer all
at the expense of babies' lives.
On pews, we react, “Who cares?”

Our nation is Murder Central,
but at least we're green.
And killing a turtle can
imprison you before a terrorist.
Yet, we react, “Who cares?”

Immorality flourishes around us;
girls are mothers, still living with their own.
Less than ten percent
of Americans are alive in Christ.
To be “nice,” we react, “Who cares?

Over 1.2 billion people
have never heard of Christ;
hopelessly lost to Hell.
Maybe we should wake up...
ah, never mind.
Who cares?
