A Found Psalm of Salvation

Have you ever heard of a "found poem?" It is a new poem constructed from lines in a book or other written work. From this concept, I do "found psalms," psalms that are constructed from lines and verses in the Bible. They can be adapted by rewording (esp. from persons, such as first person to third), paraphrasing, or with extra lines and phrases added for clarity or style. These additions are marked with an asterisk (*).

This is what the Lord says:

Rom. 3:23

"All have sinned;
They fall short of my glory.

Isa. 6:5

Woe is me, for I am ruined!

Psalm 51:3

For I am conscious of my rebellion,
And my sin is always before me.

*

So I cried out to God:

Psalm 51:9

"Hide Your face from my sins
And blot out my guilt.

Psalm 51:4

Against You—You alone—I have sinned
And done evil in Your sight.

Job 42:6

So I repent in dust and ashes."

John 3:16

But God loved the world in this way:
He gave His One and Only Son;

2 Cor. 5:21

He made the One who did not know sin to be sin for us.

Christ was killed on a cross and God raised Him to life

John 3:16

So that everyone who puts their faith in Him
Will not perish but have eternal life in Christ Jesus.

Eph. 2:8 & 9

We are saved by grace, through faith,
But this is not from ourselves:
It is God's gift to all who believe—
Not from good works so that no one can boast.

Eph. 1:7 & 8

It is only in Him we have forgiveness of our sins
According to the riches of God's lavished grace.

Rom. 10:9

If you will just believe in your heart
And confess with your mouth
That Jesus Christ is your Lord and Love
You will be saved.

Prov. 3:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart;

John 8:11

Go and sin no more.

Jude 25

To our God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
Be all the glory, power, and praise both now and forever.
Amen.
