Grace and Mercy and Mercy and Grace

Our God is gracious to no end;
our Lord is merciful like a friend.

Grace and mercy He rolls into one,
revealed to us through the life of His Son.

Each needs the other to be of worth;
together they make all the goodness on earth.

For grace without mercy doesn't quite click
and mercy without grace just won't do the trick.

Mercy saves us from the road to Hell;
grace sets us on the path to Heaven.

Grace enables us to do well;
mercy prevents us from constantly failing.

Mercy gives us our daily bread;
grace adds for us leftovers, too.

Grace sends us charging ahead
while mercy keeps us from lagging.

Mercy removes our garments of sin;
grace grants us robes of righteousness.

Grace is what makes us beautiful within,
and mercy is what cleans and dusts.

Mercy helps us be alright with God;
grace draws us to love with Him.

Grace adopts us as sons of God;
mercy frees us, once children of the Devil.

Mercy clothes us day after day;
grace fills our closets to the brim.

Grace lets us laugh and play
while mercy keeps us from mourning.

Mercy keeps us from dying of thirst;
grace gives us plumbing and bottled water.

Grace is why God chose us first;
mercy made Him consider us at all.

Mercy, after all, is God withholding wrath,
the wrath we deserve in Hell.

Grace, however, is God lavishing gifts
on the unworthy He loves so well.

In Jesus are grace and mercy complete;
by His precious blood, we see love.

So next time you if God is so good,
remember the grace and mercy from above.
